Resources for coping with loss

Compassionate Veterinary Hospice provides support for pet parents before and after the loss of a beloved pet

Grief is a normal human reaction to loss, and is often experienced both before and after a loved one has died. Pets provide companionship and unconditional love, so when your beloved pet is seriously ill or dies, you may experience intense feelings, much like the feelings evoked when you anticipate or experience the loss of a close human family member.

When your pet is seriously ill, your love and devotion motivate you to carry the burden of a “family caregiver” for your pet. This can be physically demanding and emotionally challenging. Our compassionate support aims to ease that burden in any way we can. Our support does not end after your pet has peacefully died. Compassionate Veterinary Hospice is here to support you throughout your grief journey. Our caring staff will accompany you in your sorrow, help you cope with a changing reality, and guide you to community resources to meet your specific needs.
